The public board is a global Top 50 ranked by miles. Coin totals ride along as a second stat so you can see how greedy a distant run was, but distance is what moves the row. Set a player name if you want that label on the board.
A verified run is one the game started and finished through Play, then synced when the run ends. Those are the runs that can post to the leaderboard and count toward weekly challenge claims. If a start fails to sync, you can still play locally, but that session will not be the one that writes a trusted result.
Personal bests
Your best miles are tracked even when you are not inside the Top 50. That best is what the Space Sector unlock looks at — 100 miles in a single run — not whether you currently sit on the public board.
After Game Over, progress is saved. Try Again is the fastest way back onto the course. Submit or claim from the menus once the run has synced.
What this does not change
Local play still works if a start cannot sync. That session is still a real run on your machine; it is just not the one that writes the trusted board row or a weekly claim. We do not publish the check that decides that.
