FAQ

Short answers about price, accounts, controls, coins, skins, the board, and how to reach Ease of Fortune Studios.

Is Midnight Mile 2D free?

Yes. You can play in the browser, unlock Street Runner, run weekly challenges, and compete on the miles leaderboard without paying. Optional coin packs exist in the Skin Shop if you want extra wallet coins.

Do I need an account?

No login or email sign-up. The game keeps a local identity in your browser to sync wallet, skins, runs, challenges, and leaderboard submissions.

How do I play?

Open Play, start a mission, and survive. You auto-run forward. Jump gaps, duck under stacked platforms, dodge eagles, and pick up gold and tokens. How to Play lists the keys and swipes.

Does it work on phones?

Yes. Touch: tap to jump, swipe down to duck, swipe left to dodge. Keyboard on desktop: up/W/space jump, down/S duck, left/A dodge. JavaScript has to be enabled.

How are leaderboard runs verified?

Start and finish through Play so the run can sync. Those runs can post miles to the global Top 50 and count toward weekly claims. Local play still works if a start cannot sync; that session is not the trusted result.

What happens when I fall?

Falling below the course ends the run, same as an unprotected eagle hit from the front. Game Over shows miles and coins. Progress is saved. Try Again starts another mission.

How do coins work?

Gold pickups add to that run’s coin total (two each while purple 2× is active). After a verified run, coins go to your wallet for the Skin Shop. Weekly claims and optional coin packs also add wallet coins. Tokens grant effects, not extra spendable coins by themselves.

How do I unlock skins?

Street Runner is free. Most others cost 2,500 to 11,500 coins in the Skin Shop. Commander Nova unlocks free after you reach 100 miles in a single run (Space Sector).

Do skins change gameplay?

No. They change how the runner looks. Jump, dodge, eagles, and mile scoring stay the same.

How do weekly challenges work?

Each week lists a few objectives tied to a real run: coin totals, miles without a shield, boss kills, and similar. Complete them on a verified run, then claim the coin reward. The homepage and Challenges panel show the current set.

What are boss eagles?

Larger, faster Cryptic Eagles that appear later in a run. They take three shielded hits to defeat. Those kills count for XP and Boss Hunter challenges.

What do the power-ups do?

Purple: gold is worth 2 for 10 seconds. Blue: eagle shield for 10 seconds. Silver: gold magnet for 10 seconds. Same color again resets the timer. Magnet does not pull tokens.

Can I play without purchasing anything?

Yes. Purchases are optional coin packs. Skins bought with coins earned in-game are enough to use the full roster except Nova, which is a mile unlock.

How does the leaderboard work?

Global Top 50 ranked by miles. Coins show as a second stat. Set a player name for the label. Personal best miles are tracked even if you are not on the public board.

What browsers does it support?

It is a browser game that needs JavaScript and HTML5. We do not publish a separate supported-browser list. If the page loads and input responds, you can run.

What happens to purchased or unlocked items?

Wallet and owned skins sync to the local identity in that browser. Friend codes can send wallet coins to another identity. We do not store card numbers; Stripe handles checkout.

Can I gift coins?

Yes. The Skin Shop can copy your six-character friend code or send wallet coins to someone else’s code.

Where do I report a bug or ask about billing?
